Best AI Customer Service

OpenLazarus for customer service: an AI support agent inside company records

A support agent that works in the same system as orders, invoices and accounts, so it can act rather than only answer. The trade-off is moving support onto that system.

OpenLazarus builds a system the company owns, bringing people, data, software and AI teammates onto one platform1. Its AI support agent is one of those teammates, and it works on the same records as the staff23.

Best for: Established companies whose support questions are answered from the same records the business runs on (orders, invoices, accounts, jobs) and that want the support agent working inside them.

Not the right fit for: Companies that want to keep their current help desk and add an AI agent on top within days.

What the OpenLazarus support agent does

The support use case describes an agent that answers from the company's own knowledge (FAQs, policies, troubleshooting guides and past resolutions kept as files the company edits) and, when connected to the company's systems, handles account-specific requests: checking order status, looking up invoices, resetting passwords and updating account details. It tracks response times and applies priority routing and escalation rules2.

It escalates billing disputes, technical bugs and upset customers with a summary of the issue, the customer's history and what it tried, and when people resolve escalated cases, those resolutions become templates it learns from. It is deployed to website chat and the support email, with internal escalations in Slack, and can be extended into a team of agents for frontline answers, escalations, knowledge upkeep and reporting2. In the agent library, the customer support teammate answers customers by mail and chat and sees each ticket through to closed; every teammate also has its own phone number and limits the company sets3.

The conversations and figures on the support page are illustrations, including its statements about the share of tickets an agent can handle. OpenLazarus has no published customer-service case studies yet.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • The support agent works on the same records as the rest of the company, so it can act rather than only answer.
  • Escalations carry a summary of the issue, the customer’s history and what was tried.
  • Knowledge lives in files the company edits; a policy change is reflected in the next answer.
  • Platform, hosting and engineering prices are published, with no per-seat or per-resolution fee.

Limits

  • No published customer-service case studies yet. The figures on its support page are illustrations, not measured results.
  • Replacing a help desk is a larger project than adding an AI agent to one.
  • Testing and quality-assurance tooling for the agent is not described on its pages.
  • AI usage is paid through credits, with a 5.5% fee on credits.

Choose another option if: You want to keep Zendesk, Salesforce or another help desk and add an agent quickly. Intercom Fin works with any help desk, and Zendesk and Agentforce add agents to their own platforms.

Pricing

Published: plans at $100 or $300 a month including the same amount in AI credits, managed hosting from $150 a month, engineering support from $4,500 a month and a 5.5% fee on AI credits.

Questions to ask OpenLazarus

  • Which of our systems would the agent read and change on day one?
  • How would we move from our current help desk, and what happens to ticket history?
  • How do we test the agent on past conversations before it goes live?
  • What would our AI credit usage be at our conversation volume?
