Intercom Fin: an AI agent for any help desk, priced per outcome
The most portable agent in this guide: it runs on Intercom's help desk or on Zendesk, Salesforce and others, with the clearest published billing definition.

Fin is Intercom's AI agent for customer service. Unlike most help-desk vendors' agents, it can be bought for use on another company's help desk1.
Best for: Companies that want a proven AI agent on their existing help desk, paid only when it resolves a conversation.
Not the right fit for: Companies that want the agent to work across operations beyond customer service.
What Fin does
Fin answers on voice, chat, email, social channels and Slack, and integrates with help desks including Salesforce, Freshdesk, HubSpot and Zendesk, as well as through APIs and MCP2. Companies configure procedures for it to complete, and it improves through a cycle Intercom describes as train, test, deploy and analyze, with AI-powered insights and quality review2.
Billing is per outcome, with one outcome charged per conversation at most. An outcome is a resolution (no further help requested after Fin's last answer), a configured procedure that ends in a handoff to a person, a disqualification or a self-serve routing, each at $0.99, or a lead qualification at $9.99. Conversations simply passed to the team without an outcome are not charged1.
Published evidence
- Resolution rate across customers. Intercom says Fin customers average a 76% resolution rate across more than 12,000 businesses. Vendor-reported.2
Fin's site also quotes a customer's head of AI support reporting about 560,000 resolutions a month at about a 79% resolution rate2.
Strengths and limits
Strengths
- Outcome pricing: charged only when Fin resolves the conversation or completes a configured procedure.
- Works on top of other help desks, so no migration is required.
- A full train, test, deploy and analyze cycle, with insights and quality review.
- The clearest published billing definition in this guide.
Limits
- Resolution-rate figures are Intercom’s own averages across its customers.
- A minimum of 50 outcomes a month applies when used with another help desk.
- A resolution is counted when no further help is requested, which is not the same as a confirmed fix.
Choose another option if: Most answers depend on records outside the help desk that Fin cannot reach, or you want one system for support and operations.
Pricing
Published: $0.99 per outcome; qualifications $9.99 each. With another help desk, a 50-outcome monthly minimum. With Intercom’s help desk, plus $19 per seat a month.
